Peanut Restricted Campus

Oak Ridge is a Peanut Restricted school. Classrooms are Tree Nut and Peanut Restricted.

Our goal is to ensure that students with food allergies have a safe and welcoming learning environment. Children with food allergies face life-threatening reactions when these allergens are ingested or in some cases, inhaled.

OAK RIDGE POLICY

If Food Is Served At An Oak Ridge Event And/Or PTA Meetings They Are To Be Peanut And Tree Nut Free

ADDITIONAL NOTE: Room Parents please remember that all class holiday parties are to be nut free as well

Peanut And Tree Nut Restricted Classrooms
All classrooms including the media center, music room, art room and gym have been designated as "NUT FREE." This means that no snacks containing any kind of peanuts or tree nuts will be allowed. Students may eat tree nuts in the lunchroom only. There are no peanuts allowed anywhere in the school or on school grounds. Posters are posted throughout the school as reminders.

Teacher And Lunch Monitor Awareness Training
All staff will receive education and information on specific allergies of Oak Ridge students along with procedures for addressing allergic reactions. Each staff is epi-pen trained yearly.

Lunch Room Allergy Table
There is a table designated for those children who have food allergies in the lunchroom
